When climbing wide roofs sometimes the only way is by using inversion techniques. Me & Brit have never tried it before but this roof seemed like a good place to start. It's a very strange feeling hanging upside down a hundred feet over the ground! I was thinking the crack would be wide enough to accept my whole leg but it wasn't as wide as I'd expected. So, my foot was cammed much too vertically to stick well and I was hanging too far away from the crack. Tried & tried but it just didn't work. The footholds on the wall are few and not good. Plus the wall is covered in lichen. I'll have to try this again someday, maybe only inverting at the end or not at all.
